HAUTES CORBIÈRES WITH DERNACUEILLETTE
Guillaume Boussens it's 130 kg of teasing smile, tender heart, joviality, but also strong, a hard worker, who exudes rare precision and rigor in his wines. A “high altitude winegrower”, named Guillaume Boussens and his Dernacueillette estate. A former boxer, it was here in a preserved green setting located in the Hautes Corbières that he decided to take over the highest estate in the appellation (altitude 360 – 690 m)!
UNIQUE TERROIR
Nowadays, 14 hectares of vines flourish behind Mont Tauch. It is one of the highest mountains in the Corbières, it protects the plots from maritime entrances and it creates a unique micro-climate, called climatic shadow which brings a lot of freshness to the wines. This forgotten terroir is composed of red (ferruginous), pink (Magnesian), black (Tungsten), and blue crystalline shales.
MINDFULNESS
PRACTICES
The yield is naturally limited (15-20 hectoliters/ha), with physical maintenance of the plots due to its geographical profile. Here the Carignan, Syrah and Grenache, the three Musketeer grape varieties from the Domaine de Dernacueillette vineyard, are all harvested by hand to fully express them.
TRUE DEVOTION
In the cellar he leaves nothing to chance, his vinifications are meticulous, and the wines have a tension and minerality like no other estate in the region. One of the greatest winegrowers in Corbières and Languedoc without a doubt! He creates wines capable of competing with the greatest wines!
